On the soil of Boston, the Brookline Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce (BTCC) has taken root for over two decades. From the very first chapter, rallied together by founding president Mr. You Sheng-Xiong, through the dedicated stewardship of every president since, the seed planted to nurture the local Taiwanese community has grown into a flourishing tree.
Like many long-established organizations, the BTCC once faced the challenge of a generational gap in leadership. Yet within every challenge lies an opportunity. Beginning with the transformative tenure of the 11th president Li Meng-Jie, carried forward by the 12th president Chen Yi-Ru, and now continuing with the newly inaugurated 13th president Chen Guan-Zhong, we have witnessed a remarkable rejuvenation of the Chamber’s leadership. This is more than a passing of titles — it is an infusion of energy. The younger generation has propelled the Chamber into a new phase of rapid growth, bringing with it an unprecedented dynamism and creativity.
The most inspiring spirit of the BTCC lies in shared prosperity. Though the leadership has grown younger, the Chamber’s senior members and veterans have never stepped away. They continue to participate actively in Chamber affairs, lending their wealth of experience as the strongest foundation for the next generation. This atmosphere of unity across three generations — elders, mid-career members, and young leaders — allows the BTCC to boldly stride toward the future while standing on a steady foundation.
Beyond its long-standing mission of supporting the local Taiwanese community in business, trade, and daily life, the BTCC has also stepped beyond the business world to actively promote Taiwanese culture, support education, and engage enthusiastically in charitable endeavors. We firmly believe that true influence is built not only through commerce, but through meaningful contributions to society.
To more comprehensively and powerfully elevate the presence of Taiwanese people in Boston, we have officially established the Brookline Taiwanese Chamber Foundation (BTCF). The BTCF will work hand in hand with the BTCC to champion Taiwanese values and culture on the global stage.
With the founding of the Foundation, we have unveiled a brand-new visual identity (Logo) for both BTCC and BTCF. At the heart of this logo is the infinity symbol: the golden silhouette of Taiwan represents our shared origin and enduring spirit, while the deep blue Boston skyline traces the moments we have met, lived, and built memories together. The interweaving of gold and blue symbolizes the fusion of heritage and innovation. Because we are committed to Bridging Taiwan and Boston, we will carry forward the warmth passed down by those who came before us, and together — in a renewed spirit — continue to nurture the home we have built here in Boston.
Join us, and let’s strive for Taiwan together! The BTCC is a warm and energetic family. If you share a passion for advancing Taiwanese influence, hope to connect with like-minded friends in Boston, and want to create new opportunities together, we warmly welcome you. Let us write the next brilliant chapter of the Brookline Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce.
